SCIENCE:
We will have our chapter 1 environment test on Friday, Jan 7. Please refer to progressbook for the study guide (students can also pick one up in class.)
I will also be posting an extra credit assignment at some point today which will be due Friday.
I passed back the chapter 4 tests, and students who earned below a 70 may do test corrections: write the question they missed and correct answer on looseleaf. Please see me for a book, because you must also write the page number of the correct answer. Get a parent signature, staple to the original and turn in by the end of the week. Usually test corrections must be turned in the day after the tests are passed back.
Next week in class we will be starting our deer overpopulation project.
This week in language arts:
· Monday and Tuesday we will be watching The Outsiders movie
· In writing we return to the six traits. This week we will be working on word choice.
***Don’t forget your Historical Fiction book report is due Friday, January 14, 2011.***
Social Studies:
In social studies we are beginning chapter 8: Greece this week. Geography, early civilizations and city-states will be the focus of the map packet that is due on Wednesday. This is the first time most of the students are studying Greece. There will be a quiz on Thursday over section 1. Also, students who earned below a 70% on the midterm exam should see me Wednesday or Thursday this week to get their additional assignment.
